From 28 to 30 March Cremona will host the fifth edition of “Formaggi & Sorrisi, Cheese & Friends Festival”, an exceptional showcase of authentic flavours and Italian dairy excellence: the streets of the historic centre will offer a wide range of high-quality dairy products, offering a unique sensory experience to lovers of good food and food and wine for an immersive journey through the authentic flavours of the Italian dairy tradition.
Numerous dairy producers from different regions of Italy will participate in the event, each with their own unique specialties.
The unmissable princes of the event from Lombardy, namely Grana Padano dop and Provolone Valpadana dop, which will open the way of taste towards some of the most representative cheeses of the region, such as formai de mut, taleggio, gorgonzola, creamy stracchino and the rare strachitunt, the famous salva cremasco is unmissable, but also the traditional cacio, made according to ancient techniques handed down over time.

From Piedmont, you can taste cheeses with an intense flavor, made with artisanal methods. In particular, the renowned Montébore, a cheese with a characteristic tower shape, produced with a mixture of cow's and sheep's milk.
Moving further north, from Alto Adige will arrive excellences with strong flavors with cheeses with an unmistakable smoky aroma and a selection of mountain cheeses and ricottas, representing the best of the mountain dairy tradition.
Tuscany will offer a wide range of pecorino cheeses, both fresh and aged, perfect to satisfy every palate.
From southern Italy, Sardinian production will be present with the famous Sardinian pecorino in its sweet and aged variants, ideal for those who love robust and authentic flavours, and from Campania a wide selection of buffalo milk products, including mozzarella, scamorza, yogurt and panna cotta.
Among the specialties offered, an innovation stands out where almonds meet buffalo mozzarella, for a product with a unique taste like the “Tarallo”.
To best enhance the characteristics of the cheeses, it will be possible to discover interesting combinations thanks to unexpected and tantalizing taste paths; the stands will offer delicacies that can be paired with dairy products, including mustards, compotes, sweet and sour sauces and winning pairings with craft beers that, due to their organoleptic characteristics, pair perfectly with cheeses.
