Forbes: Bezos the richest, but assets at risk with divorce

Jeff Bezos is still the richest man in the world. With assets of $131 billion, up $19 billion on 2018, the Amazon founder confirmed his first place in the 2019 "World's Billionaires" ranking, released today by Forbes.

In second place, like last year, there is Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and head of the world's largest charitable foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with a $96,5 billion fortune.

The distance between the two super rich has therefore widened compared to last year, but 2019 will be a very delicate year for Bezos who could reshuffle the cards. The Albuquerque tycoon's wallet could be jeopardized by the billionaire divorce from his wife MacKenzie, especially after the rumors of the National Enquirer tabloid which on the day of the announcement of the divorce revealed that he was having an affair with former TV presenter Lauren Sanchez . A gossip that could cost Amazon's number one dearly, despite the fact that the separation is officially "friendly".

In third place in the world rankings of the scrooge is there Warren Buffett, at the head of the Berkshire Hathaway fund, with assets of $82,5 billion. Fourth Bernard Arnault the number one in world fashion with an empire of 70 brands including Louis Vuitton and Sephora don 76 billion.
