Food delivery, Uber negotiates the purchase of Deliveroo

From words to deeds or at least to intentions. Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, had already said some time ago that his company aimed to strengthen itself in food delivery by becoming the largest company in the world in this market segment that is growing visibly. That's why Uber is negotiating the purchase of the British Deliveroo, one of the largest startups in Europe which last year raised the beauty of 480 million dollars from investors.

In home delivery of food Uber is already there with UberEats but buying Deliveroo would allow you to make a huge leap in quality. This is why, according to Bloomberg, the Californian group would have offered Deliveroo over 2 billion dollars.

UberEats and Deliveroo would jointly create a very strong food delivery hub that could start serving something like 17 restaurants in the United Kingdom and then attack the American market and which would undermine the leadership of JustEat, until now the undisputed leader in the sector which yesterday began to pay for it on the Stock Exchange. So far, however, Deliveroo's shareholders have appeared reluctant and would prefer a partnership with Uber rather than outright selling but the games have just begun and the match remains to be seen.
