Fonsai: the trials of Salvatore Ligresti and his defenders remain in Turin

The trial of Salvatore Ligresti and the three former Fonsai managers remains in the Piedmontese capital, which sees them accused of false accounting and market manipulation – The defense asked to recognize Turin's territorial incompetence, but the court rejected the request.

The Turin court rejected the territorial jurisdiction exceptions raised by the defenders of Salvatore Ligresti, three ex-managers of Fonsai, in relation to the trial in which they are accused of false accounting and market manipulation.

Also in the light of the transfer to Milan of the preliminary hearing for Paolo Ligresti, Salvatore's third son, in another line of inquiry, the defense asked to recognize the territorial incompetence of Turin. However, the court also rejected the motion for the trial involving the eldest daughter Ligresti Jonella, whose position had initially been removed from the main proceedings because the defense had proposed - with the prosecutor's favorable opinion - a plea deal, rejected by the judge in recent months .

During the next hearing, set for May 8 for both proceedings, the court should decide for the unification of the trial, which continues in Turin.

On January 30, the court had already rejected another territorial jurisdiction exception for Salvatore Ligresti and the three ex-managers Antonio Talarico, Fausto Marchionni and Emanuele Erbetta, accused like Jonella of false accounting aggravated by serious harm and insider trading in the form of false information to the markets regarding Fonsai in the period 2008-2011. The interested parties have always rejected all charges.
