Unicredit has not yet decided whether to participate in the Fonsai capital increase. This was stated by the managing director of Piazza Cordusio, Federico Ghizzoni, explaining that the Bank "has not yet submitted any resolution to the Board" regarding the possibility of subscribing "the respective pro-quota in the Fonsai capital increase. If it were decided to subscribe on a pro-rata basis, the 6,6% stake would remain unchanged”.
With the eventual merger between Fonsai and Unipol – Ghizzoni added during the shareholders' meeting – “Unicredit's stake would suffer a dilution, but the entity cannot be estimated because the definition of the swaps is still in progress”.
