The assembly of Fondiaria-Sai today elected the new Unipol board of directors. Fabio Cerchiai was appointed president. The other members of the newborn board are Pierluigi Stefanini, Carlo Cimbri, Ethel Frasinetti, Maria Lillà Montagnani, Nicla Picchi, Barbara Tadolini, Angelo Busani, Marco Pedroni, Vanes Galanti, Sergio Costalli, Ernesto Dalle Rive, Francesco Berardini, Milo Pacchioni, Claudio Levorato , Marco Minella, Guido Galardi, Oscar Guidetti and Gianpaolo Galli (the latter taken from the minority list presented by the funds).
The merger between the Unipol and Fondiaria-Sai groups is "of historic significance", underlined the outgoing chairman of Fonsai, Cosimo Rucellaiat the beginning of the meeting. The operation represents “the confluence of three insurance traditions which have characterized and will continue to characterize the country's insurance history: Fondiaria, Sai and Unipol”.
The meeting also established the cut the remuneration of board members: for simple advisers the salary drops from 50 to 30 thousand euros, while the additional salary for those who are also part of the executive falls from 50 to 15 thousand euros.
At the beginning of the afternoon, Fonsai's stock gained 1,2%.
