A contract was signed today in Milan which will allow Fondo Italiano di Investimento to enter the share capital of Farmol Spa, a company based in Bergamo active in the production of consumer goods in aerosol cans (products for personal hygiene and cleaning) or in bottle (household care products).
The transaction, for a total value of 11,25 million euros, is configured in part as a capital increase against the subscription of a minority stake, and in part as the subscription of a convertible bond loan.
To date, Farmol has a turnover of 46 million euros involving around 150 workers in production (110 in Italy and 40 abroad) and produces on behalf of multinational giants such as Unilever, Henkel and Procter & Gamble. The objective of the intervention of the FII is to "transform Farmol from a successful medium-sized company to a reference interlocutor on a global level for its customers", continuing the plan of extraordinary investments which led to the start-up of a new factory in Hungary in 2011.
As regards the FII, this is the nineteenth intervention of the Fund since the start of its activities; to this number must be added three other projects already approved by the BoD and currently being defined. The total amount of investments approved by the FII is close to 225 million euros which, added to the 245 attributable to indirect investments, lead to a total investment of just under 470 million euros (43% of the total available for investments).
