Mutual funds: inflows slow down in June but are positive for the sixth consecutive month

The asset management sector recorded the sixth consecutive month of positive deposits, albeit slower than the recent records. In June, asset managers collected more than 2,5 billion euros, a value that brings the flows recorded since the beginning of the year to 38,3 billion euros. This was announced by Assogestioni.

In any case, funding is slowing down compared to last month (8,7 billion), when the highest value since 1999 was recorded. Furthermore, the correction of the financial markets recorded during the month affected the performance of assets which, despite the inflows, drop to 1.242 billion (from 1.264 billion in May). Collective management guaranteed positive deposits, with a result of over 2,7 billion euro (from 8,9 billion in May), almost 31 billion since the beginning of the year, and assets worth more than 559 billion (568 in May), 45% of total assets under management.

The president of Assogestioni, Domenico Siniscalco, commented: "The June data signal the turning point of the funds and asset management industry in Italy"i
