Piedmontese foundations, assets exceed 10 billion

Even more solid. The Piedmontese system of Foundations of banking origin (Fob), in 2017, strengthened its equity, formed by the endowment fund plus reserves. In fact, the sum of the net assets of the twelve Piedmont FOBs as of 31 December last was 10,690 billion, increased by 178 million compared to the same date in 2016, when it was 10,512 million. The increase is 1,7%.

All twelve Piedmont FOBs increased their shareholders' equity, naturally to different extents, in both absolute and relative terms. Thus, if the "treasure" of the Compagnia di San Paolo, the largest at the regional level and the second largest at the national level, rose from 5,880 billion at the end of 2016 to 6,014 billion on the last day of 2017, the shareholders' equity of the Cassa di Risparmio di Savigliano Foundation grew by 142.538 euros, amounting to 35,631 million, a figure that places the Cuneo institution at the bottom of the Piedmontese ranking for equity.

The equity of the Crt Foundation, led by former minister Francesco Profumo, which is the third largest in Italy, rose to 2,192 billion from the 2,170 billion of 31 December 2016 and that of the Cuneo CRC Foundation to 1,319 billion, 15,6 million more than the previous year. Therefore, the Cuneo Foundation will be eighth in the national FOB ranking drawn up every year by ACRI, the association of 88 entities born following the Amato law of 1990.

The Cariplo Foundation continues to be in the lead, whose shareholders' equity at 31 December 2017 rose to 6,956 billion. In fourth place, also behind the Compagnia di San Paolo and the Crt Foundation, will be the Cariparo Foundation (Padua and Rovigo) with 1,986 billion, having surpassed the Cariverona Foundation (1,81 billion), behind which are the Cr Firenze Foundation , the Rome Foundation and, indeed, the CRC Foundation.

Returning to Piedmont ranking, here are the respective rounded values of the shareholders' equity at 31 December last for the other Foundations of banking origin in the region and, in brackets, those at the same date in 2016: Biella 225,1 million euros (223,8 million ), Tortona 218 (216), Asti 212,7 (212,6), Alessandria 205,9 (205,8), Vercelli 116,2 (115,6), Saluzzo 60,2 (59,9), Fossano 53,7 ,53,2 (37,5), Bra 37,5 (XNUMX).
