Visentini Foundation, Next Generation EU: only crumbs for young people

Young people are entitled to only 4,53 billion euros of European resources. According to the examination of the interventions planned in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) on the NEXT Generation EU for young Italians only the "crumbs" remain.

This is what emerges on the website dedicated to the "Youth Policies Observatory”, a platform into which all the initiatives of the Bruno Visentini Foundation that revolve around the theme of young people and above all the fight against the generation gap have converged.

The resources of the program represent an opportunity to address the numerous growth problems of the Italian economy, amplified by the health crisis. Our country - the largest beneficiary of these resources - will have to prepare its own PNRR by spring according to the guidelines issued by the European Commission.

Di 223 billion euros of total resources planned for six years, the generational measures aimed at young people are divided into seven interventions - identified in the PNRR - for a total of 4,53 billion euros, equal to 2,02% of the total allocation. Of these, around 3,6 billion euros are planned in the Recovery Plan and 930 million in ReactEU.

The seven speeches focus on Mission 4 “Education and Research” e Mission 5 "Inclusion and cohesion", while the European Commission Guidelines of 22 January 2021 provide for the concentration of youth policies in a single pillar.

The data were discussed yesterday morning at the Budget and Social Affairs Commissions of the Chamber of Deputies by the National Youth Council, with which the Bruno Visentini Foundation has a Memorandum of Understanding for the monitoring and evaluation of current youth public policies.

As part of its activities, the Observatory addresses institutions, economic and social operators and civil society, through the formulation of widely debated policy proposals and the promotion of projects, co-financed by direct European funds and by NOPs, intended to a dense network of schools from all over Italy
