Trussardi Foundation: online project “Camera Travel” at the end

It ends on Monday 1st June Chamber trips, the online project of the Nicola Trussardi Foundation which collected and distributed images, videos and texts daily for 67 days, chosen by artists invited to talk about their domestic space and their imaginary journeys during the lockdown. Every day, since 27 March 2020, a different contribution has been published on the Foundation's website and social channels.

Inspired by the famous eighteenth-century novel by Xavier De Maistre I travel around my room – written during a forced stay of 42 days in a room in Turin – Chamber trips he invited artists to open the doors of their real and imaginary rooms.

Over the years, many artists have taught us to look at the spaces that surround us from new points of view: from Giorgio Morandi, shut up in his studio in the middle of the Second World War, to Marisa Merz, who in her home in Turin encouraged us to look at the world with closed eyes, which for her were "extraordinarily open", the artists have imagined the domestic space as a territory open to infinite discoveries.

In the two months of forced closure at home, Chamber trips stimulated to undertake new journeys within the perimeter of one's room, to try to discover new maps of the imagination and new vanishing points.

The Nicola Trussardi Foundation dedicates the project Chamber trips to the memory of Germano Celant and Nanda Vigo, two tireless travelers who left us during the quarantine period.
