The first meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Research & Entrepreneurship Foundation, which will be in office for the three-year period 2013-2015, was held over the weekend in Milan.

The Board made up of 15 members – indicated by the Founders in number of two each and by the Co-Founder in the number of one – has appointed Enrico Cucchiani President and Riccardo Varaldo Deputy Vice President of the Research & Entrepreneurship Foundation.

The Supervisory Board of the Research & Entrepreneurship Foundation is composed as follows: Giuliano Amato (Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies), Giamplio Bracchi (Milan Polytechnic Foundation), Oscar Cicchetti (Telecom Italia), Silvana Chilelli (Intesa Sanpaolo) Enrico Cucchiani (Intesa Sanpaolo ), Alberto Maria Giuseppe De Paoli (Enel), Graziano Dragoni (Milan Polytechnic Foundation), Felice Fulvio Faraci (Telecom Italia), Marco Forlani (Finmeccanica), Salvatore Majorana (Italian Institute of Technology Foundation), Carlo Mango (Cariplo Foundation) , Alessandro Pansa (Finmeccanica), Sauro Pasini (Enel Engineering and Research), Simone Ungaro (Italian Institute of Technology Foundation), Riccardo Varaldo (Sant'Anna High School)

The Research & Entrepreneurship Foundation aims to stimulate and support the growth and internationalization of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Spin-Offs and Start-Ups with high technological content which constitute the new generation of industry in our country in the was of knowledge. The founding members represent the three fundamental pillars on which to build the foundations for solid and sustainable growth based on innovation: industry, universities and finance. Polytechnic of Milan, the Italian Institute of Technology, the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies and Intesa Sanpaolo have therefore decided to pool complementary resources and skills to: promote the creation of small businesses research driven as important catalysts of technological innovation; select small innovative companies worthy of being supported in their growth so as to reach an attractive level for operators and investors; disseminate knowledge among technological SMEs and encourage their integration in supply chains with a high innovation content.
