Alessandro Profumo, CEO of Leonardo, is the new president of the Research and Entrepreneurship Foundation, an initiative resulting from a partnership between companies and research institutions which aims to promote the creation and development of start-ups under the banner of open innovation -up with high technological intensity. Profumo's appointment was approved by the Foundation's Supervisory Board, of which Leonardo's CEO has become a member.
News also in the membership of the Foundation, which registers the entry of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane group, which thus joins the founding companies and institutions: in addition to Leonardo, Intesa Sanpaolo, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Fondazione Politecnico di Milano and Italian Institute of Technology.
The Research and Entrepreneurship Foundation, whose range of action involves spin-offs, start-ups and innovative SMEs with high potential throughout the country, is one of the most significant examples of the union between industry, academia and finance, the three pillars of progressive and sustainable economic growth based on innovation. A strategic alliance which, thanks to the sharing of resources and skills, facilitates the meeting between supply and demand for innovation as well as the development of collaborations between small hi-tech realities and large companies, ultimately promoting the integration of the largest SMEs advanced in highly innovative supply chains.
