Mps Foundation, second black smoke for the president

Second black smoke after that of August 12 for the appointment of the new president of the MPS Foundation, the first shareholder of the MPS bank, at the end of the meeting of the General Deputation.

"The requested data have been examined and we have updated until next week" for the choice of the new president of the entity which owns 33,5% of the Sienese bank, said a source of the Foundation, explaining that a new meeting , the third, will be held on August 27th.

Among the names of candidates to succeed Gabriello Mancini, who has reached the end of his mandate, reported in the press these days, there is also that of Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, a former member of the board of the ECB. However, the mayor of Siena, Bruno Valentini, declared that Smaghi's candidacy is not at stake: "As far as I know he has made himself unavailable, however, having been on the board of the ECB, he has more the characteristics of a banker than those of a president of the Foundation. The other names are: Francesco Maria Pizzetti (former president of the privacy authority until 2012), Marco Buzzichelli (former managing director of Siena Ambiente) and Divo Gronchi (current managing director of the San Miniato savings bank and former general manager of Mps) who however in July denied being in the match.
