The contract for the awarding of the construction works of the new knowledge and culture center of the Golinelli Foundation, which will rise in via Paolo Nanni Costa (adjacent to the ex-Sabiem area), was awarded, was awarded in July to a Temporary Business Association set up by SAPABA SpA and Coop Costruzioni. The amount of the contract is 5.913.000 Euros. The assignment took place with a selection process conducted by a Committee, appointed by the Board of Directors of the Foundation, which selected 10 companies and which expressed its decision on the basis of qualitative and technological considerations and not just economic ones.
Preliminary preparation of the area, so-called “setting up”, was launched at the beginning of August and today the last expected administrative permit arrived, which allows us to officially start the works in the next few days.
Antonio Danieli, Director of the Foundation, specifies: "We take this opportunity to clearly reiterate that the problems within the former Sabiem workshops, for which the Municipality of Bologna has decided to issue an ordinance against the hygienic-sanitary degradation of the area , do not concern and have never concerned the area owned by the Golinelli Foundation which is controlled and secured from all points of view".
Marino Golinelli, President of the Foundation, adds: “We had hoped to be able to start the works as early as the end of July, but we have recorded a lengthening of the times for all the necessary administrative checks. The goal of inaugurating the cultural center in the first days of June 2015 in time for the start of EXPO2015 remains confirmed.”
