Corporate fleets: Alfa accelerates with the launch of the Giulia Business "AE"

In recent years, in a phase of the car market characterized by the fall in the purchasing power of consumers, they have been thereand corporate fleets, i.e. cars purchased for various reasons by companies, to support overall registrations.

In Italy the phenomenon is worth about 25% of the total market. An industry where Alfa Romeo, strengthened by the new Giulia range, accelerates launching on the market from the beginning of this October the specific and innovative "AE" (Advanced Efficiency) version available on the Business trim level and equipped with the 2.2 HP 180 Diesel engine with 8-speed automatic gearbox. A strategic version aimed at the world of fleets which has demonstrated its significant appreciation of the new Giulia and its Business versions.

Considering that in the market of medium-large companies in Italy there are a total of 400 companies with fleets in the Giulia segment, this is a very important figure, demonstrating the goodness of the product, its contents and the offer. A model which, in addition to being characterized by rear-wheel drive, a tribute to the most authentic roots of the Alfa Romeo legend, sees the debut of a new generation of power units which represent the state of the art in engine technology, positioning themselves at the top of the category. of the category for performance and efficiency.

Also on the safety front, the Giulia range obtained the highest recognition: the prestigious five-star Euro NCAP, reaching 98% in the protection of adult occupants. It is the highest score ever achieved by a car even considering the stricter evaluation system introduced in 2015. A result achieved thanks to two fundamental elements: on the one hand, the adoption of numerous innovative safety devices; on the other, the efficiency of a body as rigid and resistant as it is light, which makes use of ultra-light materials such as carbon fibre, aluminum and its composites.

Particularly the new Giulia Business “AE”, characterized by a specific badge on the tailgate, has a set-up specifically designed to reach those customers for whom a sports car and image is important, but who cannot neglect the economic aspect and daily comfort, having to travel several km per year. Hence the need to obtain the best in terms of consumption and emissions: 3,8 l/100km and only 99 g/km of CO2 in the combined cycle. These results are obtained thanks to specific technical solutions, through the adoption of a low pressure EGR valve which improves engine efficiency, an air-water intercooler, a secondary engine cooling circuit in addition to the primary one and of specific gear ratios.

Furthermore, thanks to a reduction of about 5 millimeters in the height of the car body and to exclusive specifically designed alloy wheels, the CX has been reduced to 0,23 for better aerodynamic efficiency. Lastly, the Giulia "AE" Advanced Efficiency adopts specific 205/60 R16 tires for reduced rolling resistance.

The effects of these innovations are reflected in the overall performance of the engine, starting from low revs and remaining unchanged outstanding performance: 230 km/h top speed and 7,2″ to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
