Fitch crushes Argentina: rating drops five points from B to CC, with negative outlook

Rating agency Fitch rejects Argentina: the assessment of the South American state has thus dropped by five notches, from B to CC with negative outlook. Fitch he believes a default is more probable than the payment of debts following the news of Argentina's conviction to pay 1,3 billion dollars to US holders of unrestructured bonds from the 2001 default, due to expire in the next few days.

Although Buenos Aires has appealed to overturn the sentence of the New York Court and avoid having to choose bankruptcy for the second time in order not to pay an excessively onerous debt, for Fitch, therefore, default remains the most probable hypothesis.
