Fitch, the merry-go-round of downgrades continues: Intesa, Unicredit and Banco Popolare hit

The downward revision affects some of the main Italian banks. Among these are Intesa Sanpaolo, whose long-term valuation has fallen to A from Aa-, with a negative outlook. Same fate for Banca Imi: it falls to A from AA-, with a negative outlook.

Fitch also lowered UniCredit's support rating: to 2 from 1, the minimum of which was corrected to Bbb+ from A. The Bbb+ note for long-term debt was confirmed for Banco Popolare but the outlook changed to negative, from the previous stable.
