Tax, Treasury: revenue +1,3% in the first 7 months

Ire revenue recorded a growth of 1,7% (+1.617 million euros), while Ires decreased from 16.518 to 15.330 million - VAT revenue increased by 2,4% - Overall, indirect taxes showed a an annual increase of 3,8%.

In the first seven months of the year, tax revenues for the Italian Treasury grew by 1,3% compared to the same period last year, reaching 221.643 million euros. “Overall, the revenue results – reads a note from the Finance Department of the Economy Ministry – confirm the good stability of tax revenues and are in line with forecasts”.

Ire revenue recorded growth of 1,7% (+1.617 million euros) driven by the good performance of withholding taxes on public and private employee income and self-employment income, which offset the decline in income from 'self-liquidation. Instead, Ires revenue drops from 16.518 to 15.330 million due to the end of the effects of some substitute taxes introduced with the 2008 budget.

Overall, indirect taxes show an increase of 3,8% on an annual basis (+3.690 million euros). VAT revenue increased by 2,4% (+1.366 million), supported by the levy on imports (+23,1%).

Revenue from gaming shows an increase of 17,3% (+1.182 million euros) linked above all to revenues from lottery (+37,5%, equal to +1.069 million euros) and revenues from gaming machines and gadgets (+9,6% equal to +194 million euros).
