Social tax: on Facebook, the Revenue Agency replies in chat

The Revenue Agency inaugurates his Facebook page, through which it will come into contact with citizens to offer initial information on a highly topical issue: the TV license fee in the electricity bill.

The service, created by the Agency at no cost and provided on the Messenger platform, is an innovation destined to radically change the relationship with taxpayers, who will be able to communicate with the tax authorities in real time even from their smartphone.

Face to face with the citizen

From today, therefore, it will be possible to open a private conversation with the Agency through the Facebook Messenger application and write your question. The answer will arrive within 24 hours or, in cases where the question requires further investigation, within 5 days of the request.

The first topic covered on the page will be that of the fee in the bill. Subsequently, the page will gradually begin to address the most common tax issues, opening up a new form of dialogue between the Agency and the citizen.

Privacy-proof dialogues

The Agency will not request any personal data, but will limit itself to answering doubts and helping taxpayers to correctly fulfill their tax obligations. However, the processing of users' personal data will comply with the policies in use on the Facebook platform, while sensitive data posted in comments or public posts will be removed.

The other accounts

Before opening the new profile on Facebook, the Agency was already present on YouTube and Twitter. With this last step, however, the account becomes not just a way of informing the citizen about tax news, but an unprecedented two-way channel with which the tax authorities and the taxpayer can interact directly via the PC keyboard or smartphone screen.
