Taxman, new scam emails: "Beware of viruses"

The Revenue Agency warns against new phishing attempts: these are emails that contain a link from which you risk downloading a virus

Several taxpayers are receiving emails these days asking them to activate refund procedures or to regularize their tax position. Warning: this is a scam attempt. This was announced by the Revenue Agency, warning that these are phishing emails containing a very dangerous link. Whoever clicks on it, in fact, starts the download of a virus that can damage the computer. The tax authorities therefore invite those who receive these emails to delete them immediately.

TAXPAYER REPORTS

In one of the emails, the recipient is invited to download a form to request a partial refund of the TV license fee. In the other type of email, taxpayers are asked to regularize their position by downloading a special form and paying a specific sum.

The emails end with the indication of some telephone numbers relating to the Revenue offices. All the information contained in the emails in question are false and the Agency recommends trashing them without opening them.
