Tax, the news of 2020: here is the calendar

From electronic receipts to slot machines, through day care, third party liability, tax wedge, superticket and model 730. If we talk about taxes, duties and bonuses, there are many new arrivals in 2020: to make the point, let's put them in chronological order those that will directly affect all Italian taxpayers.

January

From January XNUMX the revolution of electronic receipt (started last July for the largest establishments) is extended to all. The sales receipts and fiscal receipts in paper form disappear, to be replaced by a "commercial document" that customers can use to exercise their warranty rights. Merchants, on the other hand, must electronically transmit the data relating to individual transactions to the Revenue Agency.

On the side of games, from 15 January new slot winnings over €200 will be taxed at 20%. The same increase will start from March 500 on all winnings over 65 euros, including those from scratch cards. The single tax levy (Preu) and the payout (at XNUMX%), i.e. the percentage of wagered amounts destined for winnings, also change.

February

It comes from February the new Bonus for kindergartensdivided into three bands:

  • 3 euros a year for ISEE income up to 25 euros;
  • 2.500 euros per year with Isee between 25 and 40 thousand euros;
  • 1.500 euros for all the others.

At the same time, it also changes the baby bonus – intended for all children born or adopted in 2020 – which from this year is also recognized for high incomes. Here is the scheme:

  • 160 euros per month with Isee income up to 7 thousand euros;
  • 120 euros with Isee between 7 and 40 thousand euros;
  • 80 euros for all the others.

The allowance is paid for twelve months for each child and increases by 20% for any second baby.

July

From July XNUMXst the threshold beyond which cash payments cannot be made drops from 3 to 2 euros. Subsequently, from December 2021, the ceiling will drop further, up to a thousand euros.

The biggest news coming in July is though cutting the tax wedge in favor of employees who earn up to 35 euros a year. This is about 15 million people, who will receive an average of one hundred euros more a month. But be careful: this sum includes the 80 euros of the Renzi bonus for those who already receive it, i.e. employees with incomes from 8 thousand to 26.600 euros. The real benefit is therefore for incomes between 26.600 and 35 thousand euros, so far excluded from the 80 euro bonus.

It also starts in July receipt lottery. To participate you will need to ask for a code on an internet portal (which will be created by the Revenue Agency) and communicate it to the merchant before issuing the electronic receipt. In case of payment in cash, it will also be necessary to provide the tax code. Each month there are three draws with prizes of 10, 30 and 50 thousand euros, plus an annual draw with a prize of one million euros. Winnings double for those who pay with e-money.

Finally, in July, the news planned for the levy on company carswhich will only apply to newly registered vehicles. In essence, the rule concerns income in kind attributed to employees for the possibility of using the company car even in their free time. Today the value of the benefit that ends up in the paycheck is equal to 30% of the annual cost per kilometer determined on the basis of the Aci tables for an annual journey of 15.000 kilometres. From July these rates will apply:

  • 25% on company cars with C02 emissions below 60 g/km and 30% on those above 60 g/km and below 160 g/km.
  • 40% in 2020 and 50% from 2021 for vehicles with polluting emissions above 160 g/km and below 190 g/km.
  • 50% in 2020 and 60% from 2021 for cars with emissions above 190 g/km.

September

It will be abolished on September XNUMXst the health superticket from 10 euros on specialist assistance services in the outpatient clinic.

September 30 will instead be the new deadline for the presentation of the 730 model, which therefore postponed by more than two months compared to July 23, the last day for the tax return until 2019. As a result, the refunds of any tax credits will not arrive in the paycheck before October.
