Tax: Equitalia collects 8 billion, it's a record

In 2015 Equitalia collected more than 8 billion euros, a figure that represents an increase of 11,2% compared to 2014. A real record for the public company which records positive balances in all three macro areas of reference : North, Central and South.

Compared to the previous year, 2015 million euros were collected in 832,6, for a total figure of 8.243,8 million euros.

Since 2011 (2012, 7,5 billion), it has been the most consistent result, achieved thanks to greater productivity of the Equitalia structures and at the same time through a series of measures, starting with the payment in installments, as well as a greater tendency of taxpayers to pay off its debts using the channels put in place by the investee company.

Northern Italy is once again the driving force, an area in which the largest increase was recorded on 2014, equal to 14,3%. Speaking in numbers, it is 3.444,5 million euros, 430 million more than the previous year. Collections also did well in the central regions, with 1.928,6 million euros (+9,1%) and 161,4 million more than in 2014. Equitalia Sud, which also includes Rome and Lazio, grew by 9,2% with a balance of 2.870,7 million euros and 241,5 million more than in 2014.

We recall that 2015 was the last year in which Equitalia acted through various companies divided into macro areas. From 1 July 2016, Equitalia Servizi Riscossione Spa will be operational, an organization that will operate at a national level.

“We want and must do better, improve the relationship with citizens – explains the managing director Ernesto Maria Ruffini – cutting bureaucracy, making it easy to be able to pay off one's debts, using all technological tools to be on the side of taxpayers and not against them. The results achieved in 2015 are the result of a series of elements and teamwork, but the collection work must go hand in hand with the reforms that we have structured for some months and which will be implemented in 2016, with the aim to make the Equitalia Group more efficient, rationalize costs, be more attentive to citizens and businesses in difficulty, and at the same time make every effort to recover credits, resources that are indispensable for the community".

Going into detail, 51,6% of the 8,2 billion collected by Equitalia, or 4.253,8 million, will go to the Revenue Agency, 28,8% equal to 2.374,2 million euros to INPS and therefore approximately 550,6 million (6,7%) to other entities for which Equitalia collects. 550 million (6,7%) will be used to replenish the coffers of the Municipalities, 111,5 (1,4%) to Inail, 403,5 million (4,9%) to other tax authorities.

Speaking at the regional level, Lombardy "wins", followed by Lazio and Campania. Here is the general table.
