FIRSTonline publishes university theses on international trade

It is often said that in Italy the culture of internationalization is lacking or very scarce. But it is also true that sometimes what – little – that exists is not used properly, because there is little interest in the business world for this type of culture or simply because it does not emerge. Young people who have this preparation often fail to put it to good use, and end up doing other jobs, even if these would be so much needed.

FIRST online has therefore decided to make a contribution - small but we believe important - to bring out this type of knowledge. We will therefore publish, in the pages of the Export Service, the "abstracts" (the summaries) of the best theses on the topics covered in this part of the newspaper: exports, foreign investments, international trade, countries and markets, studies of an economic, sociological and statistics, new international regulations, international law, banking practices, comparisons, sector studies, business cases of particular interest.

The rules of the game of these publications are few and simple

1) the theses concern three-year degree courses (minimum mark 100), master's degree courses (minimum mark 100) and specialized Masters in the field, held in Italy and completed no earlier than 1.1.2012  (or, starting from 2013, 6 months from the date of sending the text);

2) the documents must be sent, exclusively in Word format and in Italian, to the email address: gg@firstonline.info;

3) the text must contain approximately between 15 and 25 thousand characters (4-7 folders), including graphics and tables; at the beginning, the basic data of the thesis must be introduced (name and surname of the candidate, University, Faculty or Department, title and translation if written in a foreign language, supervisor, mark achieved); at the end a short CV of the author (no more than 5 lines);

4) it is not necessary for the abstract to cover the whole thesis (to which a hint should be made in any case). The important thing is that the subject dealt with is of effective general interest and concerning the indicated area;

5) since it is in any case a publication in a newspaper, and not of an academic nature, only theoretical or doctrinal topics, and therefore not relevant to the general interest, will not be taken into consideration. The language must be perfectly correct in Italian and, as far as possible, accessible to a vast audience of readers;

6) the authorization of the thesis supervisor must be attached;

7) if business cases are discussed, the written permission of the responsible legal representative of the mentioned company is required.

A commission from FIRSTonline will judge the adherence of the texts sent to these criteria and, if so, will publish them within a short time in the Export Service of the newspaper, notifying the interested party.

That's all, we await the contributions of readers and hope to start publishing them soon.
