FIRSTonline, boom in visits and unique users in April

Establishing two new visits/month records and the unique users record is certainly one of the best ways to celebrate the ninth birthday than for FIRST online will arrive on May 23rd. In other words, three records to blow out the nine-year candle.

Continuing an upward trend that began in October and certainly strengthened by the Coronavirus effect on information via the web, in April FIRSTonline reached its all-time high of views/month both direct (i.e. exclusively on the site) and aggregated (site+Facebook page+portal MSN Italy).

During the last month, FIRSTonline, according to Google Analytics surveys, broke through the wall of 4 million direct contacts with a total of views that reached 4 million and 518.522 units, with a growth of 620 thousand contacts compared to the previous month and a leap forward of about 16%. The length of time each visit to the site was 2 minutes and 24 seconds, a time that is well above the average and that demonstrates that FIRSTonline readers don't just scroll through the titles but are interested in reading the contents.

But the record for direct views was also added in April by the aggregate visit record with 162.727 visits to our Facebook page but above all with 922.313 views of our services on the portal Microsoft Italy, which is one of the major traffic engines of which FIRSTonline has been the supplier of economic and financial information content since its origins. The set of contacts collected on all the platforms where its services are distributed allowed FIRSTonline to break through in April – for the first time and by a large margin – the roof of 5 million aggregate visits, which have in fact risen to 5 million and 603.562 with a leap forward of 865.537 visits in just one month.

On average, on each day in April, the views were over 186 thousand, but on May 4th it was reached the new maximum of direct daily visits, which have been 220.684 with an average time spent on site of 3 minutes and 12 seconds.

For the first time unique users surpassed the 2 million barrier in April and they reached 2 million and 84.555, of which over one and a half million directly on the site.

Since the audience success of FIRSTonline has been repeating and strengthening for months now, it is evident that the growth of our web journal goes beyond the Coronavirus effect and increasingly rewards the strong identity of our information and the originality of the format that distinguishes us. A journalistic identity made up of reliability, independence, quality, competence and creativity and an editorial format that aims to combine and enhance information in real time, service information and in-depth information based on analysis, comments , on exclusive interviews and on the indication of the key to understanding the facts of every day.

On May 23 FIRSTonline performs nine years and he arrives at the appointment not only with a shower of records but also with a healthy balance that tells us that the bet, which is renewed every day, of doing good journalism even in the jungle of the Net can be won and that we are winning it beyond all wildest expectations.
