First Cisl, Giulio Romani confirmed as general secretary

"Continuing with the project for the participation of workers of banks in crisis in the management of NPLs"

First Cisl, Giulio Romani confirmed as general secretary

"The precondition for achieving the contractual flexibility that Italian banks need today is the development of participatory relationships involving workers and other stakeholders in the banking business: our NPL management proposal is moving in this direction of banks in difficulty, starting with the popular Venetian ones”: it was with these words that Giulio Romani, confirmed today as general secretary of First Cisl, concluded the work of the trade union congress in Rome.

“Our project – added Romani – is limited to the perimeter of the banks in crisis and the contribution possibly offered by the workers of these companies replaces other interventions to cut labor costs or massive reductions in personnel and is to be defined on a case-by-case basis. case, on the basis of specific technical assessments, as indeed perfectly indicated to us by the Supervision of the Bank of Italy. On the other hand, absolutely no extension to the personnel of the other banks is hypothesized ".

Giulio Romani will be assisted in the secretariat of First Cisl during the next four-year mandate by the assistant general secretary Maurizio Arena and the national secretaries Sara Barberotti, Sabrina Brezzo, Alessandro Delfino, Roberto Garibotti and Pier Luigi Ledda.
