Anthony Possenti was born in Lucca in 1933, the city where he still resides today. After classical studies, he approaches drawing which takes shape, becoming an expressive sign of a representation of the "human comedy". His works then become painting, with the same form of illustration with a strongly descriptive meaning of a magical world.

His formative opportunities were ideal and elective, fruit of the intellectual curiosity and of the literary and artistic culture that he had breathed in the family since he was a child, ranging from Greco-Roman classicism to the modern and contemporary era and with a particular predilection for the experiences of most lively and addictive cut fantastic. He has traveled extensively and met various personalities and cultures, but he always returns to Lucca where he lives and has his studio in the heart of the city, a magical place that collects, like an immense suitcase, the evidence of his "excursions" around the world. He has exhibited with personal exhibitions in prestigious public environments: Muse degli Uffizi, Sala d'Armi of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Royal Palace of Caserta, Tour Fromage of Aosta, Palazzo Ducale of Massa, Castel dell'Ovo of Naples.

He has received numerous awards and recognitions and his works are present in important Italian and foreign private and public collections.
