Fiorentina corsair, Milan ko

Milan ends up in the abyss. They do it in the worst way, with a home defeat in their worst performance of the season, the first without goals scored. Fiorentina leaves San Siro with a dry 0-2 that leaves you flabbergasted, because Allegri's team had never played so badly. The numbers don't always say it all, but this time they are enough and advance to explain Milan's momentum: only 1 shot on goal, irrelevant too, in over 90 minutes, an eloquent figure that produced the fifth defeat in the league in just 11 days. The points from the Champions League area are 16, those from leaders Roma (who have yet to play) even 18, the goals conceded (19) exceeded those scored (17).

We could go on and on, but the picture is black enough already. The season is almost compromised, now all that remains is to decide how to complete it by limiting the damage. The dilemma at Milan is only one: to continue or not with Massimiliano Allegri? For now, the answer is yes, as can be seen from the coach's statements after the match, after a long summit in the locker room with Adriano Galliani and Barbara Berlusconi.

“From tomorrow (today for the reader, ed) the team will retire – he let journalists know. – The decision was made by the club in discussions with me and with the players. It's my most difficult moment in these three and a half years with Milan, being together will do us good in view of the match in Barcelona”. And to think that yesterday's race was supposed to be the turning point. Against a remodeled Fiorentina (Cuadrado, Pizarro, Gomez, Mati Fernandez and Ilicic were missing), everyone expected a Milan ready to restart. Instead it was a disaster across the board and the Viola picked up an important success almost effortlessly.

The 27th minute was decisive, when an unpretentious free-kick from Vargas found a deflection from Muntari that displaced Gabriel. Fiorentina's advantage deprives the Rossoneri of all the psycho-physical energies necessary for a comeback, so much so that, as previously mentioned, there are no goals scored. Balotelli's performance was emblematic, capable of getting noticed only for a couple of tragicomic falls in the box and, above all, for yet another yellow card which, finding himself on a warning, will cost him next Sunday's match against Chievo. And so Fiorentina, good at closing all the spaces, found the goal in the 73rd minute that ended every conversation with Borja Valero. It ends with Viola celebrating and San Siro unleashing their protests on the club, coach and players. The fans have decided, so we can't go on anymore. When will they understand it also in Via Turati?
