Fintech, Nicastro founds another newco

It is not a new passion that of Roberto Nicastro, vice president of Ubi Banca and senior advisor for Italy of the Cerberus fund, for fintech linked to finance. He already dealt with it when he was general manager of Unicredit or when he was president of the 4 banks in central Italy under resolution. But now the Trentino banker is moving from projects and ideas, ever more intensely, to deeds.

The news came from the other day, reported by the financial newspaper Mf, according to which Nicastro together with six partners set up a newco before a Milanese notary with the aim of "processing and developing investments in innovative industrial projects aimed at providing services and financial products through the most advanced information technologies, so-called fintech”.

Nicastro is the first shareholder of the newco with a 37,6% share of the capital, followed by Federico Sforza, head of Unicredit's multichannel direct bank Italy, with 36%: the sole director will be Francesca Lauro.

The newco is not Roberto Nicastro's first initiative in fintech linked to finance: he recently invested in the start-up Yapily and set up his own Rnk. Now another leap forward.
