Finmeccanica close to selling Avio and Ansaldo Energia shares, the stock soars on the stock exchange

The announcement of the sale of Avio to General Electric for approximately 3 billion euros at equity level is arriving in the next few days, an assessment which, if confirmed, would be higher than those made in recent weeks. In any case, Finmeccanica should sell its stake in Avio, around 14%, to the Italian strategic fund: according to Intermonte analysts, this package is worth 200 million euros.

Not only Avio, however: as Milano Finanza writes, Palazzo Chigi has already started making the first contacts also for the Ansaldo Energia dossier, which will also come alive in the next few days. Yesterday the parent company Finmeccanica received the binding offer from the Italian consortium led by the strategic fund of the Cdp, with the Camozzi group, Gas Plus, Acciaierie Venete and the Fondazione and Banca Carige.

The consortium will have to deal with the Koreans of Doosan and Siemens. Moreover, still writes MF, the Italian offer would be rather complex and would unfold in various steps, with an overall assessment in any case far from the other non-binding proposals received, while Siemens would be ready to put 1,3 billion on the plate for 100% of the turbine manufacturer. The same would be true for Doosan, which however is a non-European player and could have some more difficulties.

These rumors gave wings to Finmeccanica's stock market, which by mid-morning gained more than two and a half points.
