Finmeccanica has chosen the top management of super Selex. Leading the new defense electronics company that will arise from the merger of Selex Sistemi Integrati, Selex Galileo and Selex Elsag will be Allan Cook (current president of Selex Galileo) as president with powers e Fabrizio Giulianini as Chief Executive Officer (now Chief Executive Officer of Selex Galileo).
The appointment of the two managers will be ratified in a forthcoming board of directors of the holding company. With the choice of top management, this confirms, on the one hand, the approach march to the birth of the new company which will be operational from 2013 January XNUMX, and on the other, the international profile, also at top management level, of the super Selex represented in particular by a name like Allan Cook.
The next president, among the positions held in the past, he was chief executive of Cobham, one of the major British players in the aerospace and defense sector. Two elements – timing of the merger and international projection of the company – strongly desired by the managing director of Finmeccanica, Giuseppe Orsi. The merger of the three companies will create a company with a turnover of four billion euros and 18 thousand employees, in a sector – that of defense electronics – in which Finmeccanica can also deploy the American DRS, thus placing itself among the major players worldwide.
