Finmeccanica, new orders worth 220 million

Four Finmeccanica subsidiaries have obtained orders worth 220 million. Ansaldo nuclear above all with a 104 million contract signed in Argentina. But also Selex Galileo, Selec Elsag and Telespazio.

Finmeccanica, new orders worth 220 million

Finmeccanica has been awarded new orders for a value of around 220 million euros through his companies Ansaldo Energia, Selex Galileo, Selex Elsag and Telespazio. A note from the group communicates it. In detail, Ansaldo Energia, through its subsidiary Ansaldo Nucleare, signed a service contract with NA-SA, Nucleoelectrica Argentina, worth 104 million euro for the upgrading and efficiency of the thermal cycle and the turbo-generator as part of the life extension project of the Embalse nuclear power plant in Argentina.

Selex Galileo has been awarded contracts for a total value of approximately 56 million euros. The first, with the Indian Navy, concerns the supply of support and maintenance services until 2022 at the Cares (Centre for Avionics Repair and Software Development) avionics maintenance center at the Indian Navy shipyard in Kochi. The second contract, signed with the British Ministry of Defence, concerns the supply of 20 Titan 385ES-HD electro-optical turrets for the existing fleet of Chinooks and for the new Mk.6 Chinooks which will enter service from 2016.

In addition, the company was awarded a contract by Lockheed Martin to upgrade the laser targeting capabilities of the US Army's Apache helicopters. Selex Elsag signed a contract worth around 43 million euros with the Russian Post in the field of postal automation, while Telespazio has signed two contracts with the US Department of Defense worth a total of 22 million dollars for the provision of commercial space capability.

DRS Technologies was eventually awarded an Idiq contract (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity) with a maximum value of 40 million dollars from the US Department of Defense for the production of Spotr (Spot on Target) long-range thermal sighting systems for the US Armed Forces. Added to this is another Idiq contract worth up to 94 million dollars signed with the US Navy.
