"The process of consolidating the defense industry in Europe is desirable and we want to be part of this process". This is the opinion of the Minister of Defense, Giampaolo Di Paola, in relation to the possible merger between the two big European defense companies EADS and BAE Systems and the possible consequences for Finmeccanica, owned by the Treasury.
“It's not a matter of concern – continued Di Paola -. Important scenarios are developing. Both the industry and the government will have to think about the most appropriate strategies”.
