New international assignments for Finmeccanica. The Italian giant of the defense and aerospace sector has won two orders worth a total of around 120 million euros. The agreements were signed in the USA and in Russia, respectively through the subsidiaries Drs Defense Solutions and Selex Elsag.
The first closed a contract with Ssc Atlantic for a maximum value of 100 million dollars. The contract provides for the global supply of operational support for integrated electronic security systems, with the possibility of exercising additional options until 2016. Added to this is a $4,5 million order for satellite transmission services from Disa ( defense information systems agency) to be used by the US military in Kosovo.
As for Selex Elsag, the company was awarded a 50 million euro tender by the Russian Post for the construction of the new automated postal sorting center in Rostov-On-Don. The plant will serve the entire city, as well as four regional service zones, for a total of more than 2.500 post offices and more than 50 logistics communication nodes.
