A piece of Finmeccanica lands in Peru. Alenia Aermacchi, a group company, has been selected by the Lima Ministry of Defense for the supply of two C-27J Spartan tactical transport aircraft.
This is a 100 million euro deal which includes, in addition to the 2 aircraft, a substantial logistical support package.
The C-27J, considered the only true tactical transport aircraft of its category available on the market, “was chosen by the Peruvian Air Force thanks to its proven operational efficiency at competitive costs, the extreme flexibility of use, the best performance among aircraft in its class in all operating and orographic conditions and for its unique characteristics of interoperability with larger transport aircraft already in service in the country”, Finmeccanica specifies.
