Finmeccanica-AnsaldoBreda she was awarded a contract by approx 250 million euro for the supply of 47 driverless underground trains, following the signing of the agreement and the loan agreement for line 4 of the Milan underground. The industrial group communicates it in a note.

The driverless and articulated trains will have a transport capacity of 600 passengers and will be able to reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h, operating in both directions. The new underground line will connect Milan Linate airport with the San Cristoforo railway station, crossing the city center from east to west, with a distance of 14,5 km and 15 stations”. 

The fleet will be produced "at the Finmeccanica-AnsaldoBreda plants in Pistoia and Reggio Calabria - concludes the note - for the part relating to the construction of bodies and assemblies, while the traction and vehicle control components (Tcms - Train Control and Management System) and trolleys”.

At the beginning of the afternoon, the Finmeccanica share on the Stock Exchange gained 1,8%, to 8,85 euros.
