Finmeccanica: Orsi and Spagnolini sentence annulled

Everything to be redone the appeal process against the former president of Finmeccanica, Giuseppe Orsi, and the former CEO of the subsidiary Agusta Westland, Bruno Spagnolini. This was decided by the third criminal section of the Court of Cassation, which annulled with postponement the second-level sentence of the Milan Court of Appeal against the two managers, accused of international corruption and false invoices. This is what we learn from legal sources. Orsi and Spagnolini were sentenced respectively to 4 years and 6 months and 4 years' imprisonment for both offences.

In the first instance, however, they had been acquitted of the charge of international corruption and sentenced to two years each (suspended sentence) for the
only false invoices. The proceeding concerns an alleged bribe paid to Indian public officials to secure Agusta Westland a 556 million euro order for 12 AW101 helicopters in the Asian country.
