Finmeccanica has won an order worth around 100 million euros for the supply of two AgustaWestland AW159 helicopters to the Philippine Navy. The group communicates this, specifying that the aircraft will be produced in the Helicopters division plant in Yeovil, United Kingdom, and delivered during 2018.

We will deliver to the Philippine Navy a state-of-the-art and unmatched product to address the demands of today's complex operational scenarios, customized to meet its specific needs. We will also provide the customer with support and training solutions that will enable them to take full advantage of the capabilities of their new helicopters.”

With this order, which includes a training and support package, the Philippines joins the United Kingdom and the Republic of Korea among AW159 customers and further strengthens the long-standing relationship between its forces, Finmeccanica reads. The Philippine AW159s will be equipped with a wide range of mission equipment and systems, mainly dedicated to anti-submarine and anti-ship duties.
