Finmeccamica, Orsi and Spagnolini acquitted of corruption and false invoicing charges

The third court of appeal in Milan acquitted the former top managers of Finmeccanica (now Leonardo) and Agusta Westland, Giuseppe Orsi and Bruno Spagnolini, because "there is not sufficient proof that the facts exist" in the trial that saw them accused of corruption and false invoicing related to the alleged payment of a bribe in India. This is the appeal sentence bis for the two former managers of the defense group.

The public prosecutor's office in Milan had asked for confirmation of the first appeal sentence, 4 years and 6 months for Orsi and 4 years for Spagnolini, bearing in mind, however, that one of the disputed episodes has lapsed. The defense had, however, asked for the acquittal of the two defendants. The first conviction on appeal was overturned with referral by the Court of Cassation in December 2016.
