Fininvest: summit in Arcore on Vivendi but not on Sky

Silvio Berlusconi brings together, like every Monday, all his children, the top management of Fininvest and the lawyers in his villa in Arcore to take stock of the battle against Vivendi in defense of Mediaset after the recent initiatives by the judiciary which, at the request of Fininvest itself, investigates on Bollorè's moves and registered him together with Arnauld de Puyfontaine (CEO of Vivendi) in the list of suspects for insider trading.

At present, there are no glimmers of negotiation between the two groups and the battle seems to have to take place more and more on the legal ground, especially as Fininvest awaits the outcome of the investigation opened by AgCom which has targeted the controlling stake of Vivendi in Telecom Italia and the simultaneous presence with a significant share in the capital of Mediaset with an intersection that the Italian legislation prohibits.

Despite the rumors about meetings in London in recent days between emissaries of Mediaset and Sky, however, the hypothesis of an agreement between the two groups for the sale of Mediaset Premium to the Murdoch group, which continues to hover in the background beyond beyond the official denials. It is unlikely that tomorrow the Arcore summit will talk about it, while it is not at all excluded that the latest steps will be taken in view of the March 3 closing for the sale of Milan to the Chinese consortium Sino Europe Sports if Berlusconi does not reconsider 'last.
