Leonardo also enters the match between Fincantieri and Stx. After months and months of rumors, the crucial sentence of the negotiations between Italy and France has finally arrived.

"The definitive agreement on Stx France will be signed in the next few days. It is an important step in the creation of a naval behemoth. Good news for Europe”. This was stated by the transalpine Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire on the sidelines of the summit between the 5 ministers (Carlo Calenda, Roberta Pinotti, Pier Carlo Padoan for Italy, Bruno Le Maire and Florence Parly for France) held yesterday in Rome, during which not only the implementations from carry out on the civil sector after the agreement reached at the end of September, but also of the naval – military sector, big bet aimed at creating a European giant capable of excelling internationally.

We met – explained the defense minister Pinotti – to take stock of a project in which we strongly believe. We started from the Lyon agreement working on civilian matters but we have also started working with the military, aware that we are part of a European defense discourse in which the capacity for integration takes on great importance”. "There are many interactions between our two countries in the industrial field - Pinotti recalled - and with this project we will become increasingly united also in the defense sector"

We recall that on the basis of the company contracted between Italy and France five months ago, Fincantieri will have 50% of the French shipyards, to which a further 1% will be added which the French state will lend to the Trieste group for a period of 12 years.

But the most important news of the meeting regards Leonardo who officially enters the naval-military negotiations after months of rumors and discontent. This was assured by the Minister of Economic Development, according to whom "It has been clarified that our work will go hand in hand - he explained - and must be balanced with the definition of how to go forward in the offer on the Compact Management System keeping absolutely within Leonardo who is part of this process”. Leonardo, explained the number one of the Mise, "is already working in the working groups so as to ensure that from this emerges an enhancement of the work being done on the Compact management system (a system based on the software that manages radar, sensors, sonar and also controls the weapons of a naval unit, ed.)".

Not surprisingly, inmeeting to be held today in Paris between top managers of the companies involved there will also be the CEO of the former Finmeccanica, Alessandro Profumo. Also present were Giuseppe Bono for Fincantieri, Hervè Guillet for Naval Group and Patrice Caine for Thales.

Also take into consideration that a joint venture already exists between Leonardo and Fincantieriand: “Orizzonte Sistemi Navali” which deals with the architecture and integration of platforms, combat systems and combat management systems for warships.
