An order worth 3,2 billion euros, which could rise to 4,8 billion. These are the figures of the agreement signed by Fincantieri and from Norwegian Cruise Line, one of the largest cruise operators in the world. The Italian group has obtained an order for the construction of four "new concept" cruise ships with a unit value of 800 million euros. The contract also includes the option for two more units. Delivery of the vessels is expected to start in 2022.

The Fincantieri ships will have a gross tonnage of 140 tons, almost 300 meters in length, and will be able to accommodate 3.300 passengers. Norwegian's order "is based on a new type of project developed by Fincantieri itself, which enhances the characteristics of NCL, innovative, also as an offer to passengers, with particular attention to consumption and environmental impact".

Fincantieri also announced the new extension of the voluntary takeover bid launched on Vard, the deadline for which has been postponed to 10 March.

The news of the order obtained from Ncl gave wings to the share of Fincantieri, which in the early afternoon rose by 4,48% to Business Square.
