Fincantieri: signing for Genoa on Thursday, while a new order arrives in Palermo

Next Thursday 28 July, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economic Development, the signing of the program agreement will be signed for the rationalization and expansion of the port structure which will guarantee the overturning into the sea (i.e. the filling of the area between Fincantieri and Porto Petroli, with consequent "slipping into the sea" of the shipyard) of the Genoa-Sestri Levante plant.

The agreement will be signed by the Mise, the Ministry of Infrastructures, the Liguria Region, the Province, Municipality and Port Authority of Genoa, by the companies Fincantieri and Porto Petroli Genova Spa. Once the agreement has been made official, the various signatories will meet the union representatives to sign a protocol acknowledging the agreement.

Meanwhile, after eight days of strike, the blue overalls of Fincantieri Palermo are back to work. The decision was made this morning, following last night's meeting with the company in which the arrival of a new contract was sanctioned. This is an Edison tanker that will be gutted and turned into an offshore oil tank. The ship will arrive tomorrow at 15 pm and will guarantee 80 hours of work until April next year, but will not ensure work for all the workers in the shipyard and related industries who will, in part, be subject to layoffs. The dispute is therefore not completely closed.
