Fincantieri delivers the new Seven Seas and sails in luxury

A second ultra-luxury cruise ship has been delivered by Fincantieri to Ancona: the Seven Seas Splendor was built on behalf of the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, which has already ordered a third unit of the series from the Trieste group, which will be delivered in 2023. At the presentation ceremony of this latest generation jewel intended for top-of-the-range customers (a cruise costs no less than 6.000 euros and can cost no less than 15.000, such as the 26-day cruise from New York in Venice) were attended, among others, by Jason Montague, President & CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises and the General Manager of the Merchant Ships Division of Fincantieri, Luigi Matarazzo.

Like her sister ship Seven Seas Explorer, delivered in that case by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente (Genoa) shipyard in 2016, Seven Seas Splendor has a gross tonnage of 55.000, 224 meters in length, 31 in beam and can accommodate 750 passengers on board (in the presence of 542 crew members) in 375 large suites, all with private balconies. The most prestigious, the Regen Suite, it is even 412 square meters large, including 120 of the balcony. But all the other rooms are also suites: the unit is in fact the fifth ship in the shipping company's fleet to have only luxury apartments. The set-up, explains Fincantieri, is particularly refined and much attention has been paid to details, design, refined craftsmanship and comfort for passengers.

The ships, the group led by Giuseppe Bono is keen to point out, are also built by adopting the most advanced technologies in terms of environmental protection. Fincantieri has built 1990 cruise ships since 97, while another 49 units are under construction or soon to be built in the group's factories.
