Fim-Cisl: our choices on FCA are decisive for employment

“The choices that we have made in FCA as Fim-Cisl have saved and relaunched the production of the entire automotive sector and above all have secured employment and the economic and social conditions of families and territories in our country. The Anfia data confirm those we processed last week in the production of the FCA plants in Italy". This is supported by the national secretary of the metalworkers of the Cisl, Ferdinando Uliano, right arm of the leader Marco Bentivogli.

“After our agreements and the consequent implementation of the group's investments in the plants and the upward reorganization of production, they have allowed the recovery and production expansion of the entire automotive sector since October 2014. More than 525.000 FCA-branded cars and commercial vehicles were produced in the first six months of 2016, almost as many as were produced in all of 2014.

Let's not forget, as shown by our elaboration, that production has not only doubled, but the medium-high range component has increased from 20% to 62% and this reinforces a positive outlook for the future”.

The coming months will be months of further growth for our country's production. In the second half of the year, the increase in production of the SUV Levante and the Alfa Romeo Giulia will be felt more intensely both in terms of quantity and profitability, also due to the greater weight that exports will have on these two cars, which started production in the second quarter of 2016.

Equally important signs are also being observed on orders and on the production of commercial vehicles produced at the Sevel plant in Val di Sangro. The country and politics should question and reflect on what would have happened to this important and driving sector for the entire industrial sector if we hadn't made those difficult but farsighted choices.
