Vaccines on vacation can be done. The issue, on which the Regions were insistent, was closed by the extraordinary commissioner for the health emergency, General Francesco Figliuolo, who made it known that it will also be possible to get vaccinated in holiday resorts: the structure he leads will make available the necessary doses, but the commissioner also hinted that it will be up to the Regions to organize themselves adequately. “The Conference of Regions asked me for the possibility of being even more flexible and giving the option of making the second dose on vacation even in special cases. I just signed the reply: it's fine for the structure, we will organize ourselves and make the appropriate logistical balances of the doses. From the point of view of information flows, the procedures have already been filed, now the Regions will have to put them into practice", Figliuolo told Radio 24.
Just on the day when the European Parliament gave the definitive green light to the Green Pass from 1st July, the commissioner reiterated that this choice is also part of the commitment to immunize “80% of Italians by the end of September. Today almost 48% of Italians have received the first dose. The dispensing machine goes over 90% of the doses distributed. We are 91,5% of the over 80s (with at least one dose) and 85% of the over 70s. Now we continue to look for those who have not been vaccinated with the army mobile teams together with the ASL in remote areas ”. Another important piece of news is that all the vials necessary for the third dose have been optioned: "I can say that we have already optioned, in concert with the European Union, such a quantity of vaccines cover the entire population with an additional dose and also with a robust reserve,” Figliuolo revealed.
As for the school and the possibility of restarting in September in the presence, after immunizing the youngest, the Covid commissioner explained that “we now have the possibility of vaccinating from 12 years of age, therefore most of the students. Finally, it is not certain that further authorizations will not arrive to reach 6 years. So the architrave of the school speech, to reopen it in maximum safety in the presence, is that of vaccination, then we will continue with the tracking and thinning out, for this at the beginning of the next school year the mask will still be required together with further measures to mitigate the risks”.
