Fiat, Marchionne da Monti on Friday and debate in the Senate on Thursday

Marchionne will meet Monti on Friday at Palazzo Chigi: a meeting that will serve to take stock of the commitments made for the plants, for investments and employment. But especially on these details from many quarters - trade unions, workers, parliamentarians - requests for details are raining down.

For the day after tomorrow - the day before the meeting at Palazzo Chigi - the order of business of the Senate provides that the government, in the hall, provides the clarifications on the employment prospects of the automotive group. Among those who want more precise information, Antonio Di Pietro, in a question, urges the government to also ask for an account of the public money received by Fiat and points the finger at Dr Motor which has taken over the Sicilian plant in Termini Imerese.

Addressing Monti, in his capacity as Minister of the Economy, and Minister of Labor Fornero, Di Pietro underlines how "the economic, organizational and entrepreneurial solidity" of the Dr Motor group "does not appear clear", and indeed it is burdened by "an exorbitant debt". And therefore the former prosecutor asks the government to "intervene to ascertain the real financial status of the group led by Massimo Di Risio".

Appointment Thursday, at 9,30, in the hall of Palazzo Madama: Fornero (or an undersecretary) will provide the requested clarifications.
