Fiat-unions, agreement signed on Termini Imerese

The signature has arrived. Fiat and the trade unions signed the agreement today on incentivized mobility for 640 workers at the Sicilian plant of Termini Imerese. This was announced by the managing director of Invitalia (advisor for the Government), Domenico Arcuri, as he left the headquarters of the Ministry of Economic Development, where the negotiation was concluded.

“The agreement – said Arcuri – follows the one reached last Saturday. Today there was the formalization: in the afternoon the same work will be done with Dr Motor, with which the unions will have to reach the same agreement”. One is expected maximum mobility of four years with average incentives of over 22 thousand euros per year for each worker.

“Finally we have signed – commented the Fiom coordinator, Enzo Masini -. It was a long and complicated negotiation, as always when Fiat is involved”. In any case, the text of the agreement is “positive. There is finally a clarification of one of the points of the draft that remained open, i.e. when all the workers transfer to Dr Motor".

Masini then explained that “in two years 640 workers they will go in incentive mobility aimed at retirement, while the others 926 will all be employed in Dr Motor“. There is for them the Government's commitment so that, “even in the event of interventions on pensions, the current regulatory conditions are safeguarded. This agreement will help the discussion with Dr”, which will continue this afternoon in the same ministry. The transition of workers from Fiat to Dr Motor should take place with the same economic treatment.
