"In Italy we have many problems, but we will not close plants, as demonstrated by the investment we announced in Melfi". He said it said Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat and Chrysler. 

The Italian-Canadian manager spoke of a process of "rationalization. We have gone the extra mile in terms of restructuring given the circumstances."

Just today the extraordinary redundancy fund for two years (from 11 February 2013 to 31 December 2014) was announced for the restructuring of the Sata plant of the Fiat group in Melfi. The news was released by Fiom-Cgil. 

Also today, Renault announced its intention to cut 7.500 jobs in France by 2016.
