Five hundred employees will be transferred from Mirafiori to the Maserati factory in Grugliasco. This was reported by union sources, who report a surprise visit by Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne to the Trident plant, holding a long meeting with the workers.
The transfer, which had already been decided some time ago, appeared to have been questioned over the past week. However, this morning's visit by the Italian-Canadian manager to Grugliasco dispelled doubts about the success of the operation.
Meanwhile, in the mid-afternoon, the Fiat share fell by more than 1% in Piazza Affari, in line with the negative trend maintained by the Italian stock market in the same minutes.
